Day 20 - One Ring to Rule Them All...

Tonight we played the Lord of the Rings coop boardgame. It was lots of fun, and the hobbits won! Hurrah!
I was playing Merry.

Here is a group photograph after the game.

Day 18 - Joseph Joseph

Today I used my lovely Joseph Joseph nesting bowl set - a Christmas present from my brother and his partner. I love the way they all fit inside each other - appeals to my tidy and ordered side!

Day 17 - My lovely piano

My mum and dad helped me to buy this beautiful Kemble piano. I love it, though it is in need of tuning!
My favourite thinsg to play on it are Chopin Nocturnes - I do love Chopin. Listen here for an amazing rendition of Nocturne Number 19

Day 14 - Making Space

Today is free listing day on ebay, so we've done a big tidy (sort of!) of the house and I'm listing all kinds of things on there! (Quick Pimp Here!)
This Dreamcast game was only put on recently, and I've got a buyer for £11! We put it on ebay on the off chance that someone might want it - didn't expect to get so much!!

Day 13 - being more adventurous

In 2010 I'd like to be more adventurous with my food, and what I cook. My love for River Cottage helps with this!! I got this wonderful diary for Christmas from my sister's mother-in-law. I've been reading it today, working out what's in season at the moment...
Apparently... Cabbages, Celery, Kale, Leeks, Onions, Parnsips, Swedes, Pears, Cockles, Cod, Crabs, Hare, partridge, Pheasant are amongst the yummy things!

Day 12 - Thank you

This evening I sat and finished my thank you letters and notes that I send to people after Christmas. I have some spare notecards left... here they are:

Day 11 - Bed Time

And so to bed... with my beautiful brown and turquoise bedding. My favourite combination of colours.

Wednesday 13 January 2010

Day 10 - My Fireplace

In our little 2 up 2 down, we have no 'real' fireplace... so instead, we make warmth with my beautiful laval lamp :) It's a Mathmos Glitter Baby. I love it.

Day 9 - Tuesday Evenings

Well, Tuesday evening is Slimming World night. My mother and I tootle along to Slimming World where we always have a good old laugh with the friends we've made.
We're doing quite well so far. Before Christmas I'd lost 3 stone 8lb. I've put a few pounds on over Christmas - but hey, I'm only human!!

But... possibly back on track now?! After 1/2lb gain this week - I'll see how I do.

Photograph for your delectation tonight is my Slimming World book - with my shiny stickers!
I'm very proud:

Day 8 - Survival

Just a short one today... as I'm poorly sick!

So my photo today... is my current survival kit:

Day 7 - The end of christmas

Sunday... we went for a short walk early on at Tatton Park in Cheshire - a National Trust property. It was extremely chilly, but with the snow still on the ground it was rather splendid. The deer were out in their droves too - amazing!

I came across the cart below, obviously filled with bits of the Christmas trees that had been up in the house for the festive period.
I thought the fact that they were covered in snow was quite lovely.

Day 6 - Tea for Two and Two for Tea

Today I decided to sort out my selection of teas. There were certain ones that were quite old that I just didn't like, so decided to get rid of them.
I've now put many of them in a lovely storage tin, and had a look what I've got. I'm now sipping from a nice mug of Twining's Earl Grey tea - lovely!

So... here's my tea, all nice and sorted

Day 5 - Who's coming for dinner?

After putting out the lovely feast for the birdies, I was getting anxious that I hadn't seen a single bird nibbling away.
I was worried I was doing something wrong, or that they just didn't like me!

I got very excited when I saw this fellow pecking away! He kept coming back for more through the day too!

Thursday 7 January 2010

Day 4 - A filling meal for a chilly night

It was our turn for the feast tonight. I'm coming down with a cold, so wanted something that felt fairly stodgy, and comfort-food-like. So I went for the old children's classic:

Sausage (veggie), chips (home-made), beans and fried eggs - it was truly delicious!
(excuse the quality of the picture - it's from my phone!)

Wednesday 6 January 2010

Day 3 - Feed the birds - tuppence a bag!

Thank you to some of the members of LLL for reminding me that we need to look after the birds in this cold snap. For info see the RSPB Website

In my kitchen I knocked up a filling feast for our feathered friends, consisting of sultanas, ground almonds, sunflower seeds, porridge oats and a glug of olive oil.
Here it is, ready to be served, doesn't it look yummy?!

Tuesday 5 January 2010

Day 2 - Snow!

And oh! How it snowed!

Here's my lovely little outhouse draped in a blanket of fluffy white snow:

Project 365 - The Beginning - January 4th 2010

This idea was given to me on the Little Lost Lushies forum, I'm just hoping I can keep it going!
I've done a few days in a row so far - so fingers crossed!

So, I started on 4th January:

This photograph was taken in the evening as I was waving some friends off after our regular Monday night board games get together!
The snow had started to come down quite heavily, and I love the tones that my camera picked up from the sky.
